Which year are you in? http://ampland.fun/ amp land Anna Pavord suggests we grow squash along fences or over arches, and in her book The New Kitchen Garden highlights ‘Little Gem’ (from kingsseeds.com), a heavy cropper with cricket-ball-sized fruits that mature early. She also makes a delicious squash soup with chicken stock and rice, flavoured with nutmeg and black pepper. Garnished with bacon rashers and mozzarella, this soup is served in a large hollowed squash tureen. She also reminds us not to forget to roast pumpkin seeds — spread on a baking sheet with salt for 20 minutes at 190C/375F. | Leah guadalupehba@aol.com |
